If it wasn't for the Blooming Onion there be nothing to go here for thats any different then any other steak place. Took the family and a friend here tonite and it was good food but the price is always too high for a simple meal out. Like others have said they were more impressive and better in the early days now they just don't care what they do. The place was crowded and for 3 adults and 2 children they put us at a small table which couldn't even hold all of the food that was ordered comfortably on top of all the menus books specials and everything else they put on the table so it kinda felt like we were eating in a closet. Anyways aside from that it was just ok.

I went to a different Outback about 5 years ago and it was an OK experience - nothing really stood out about it. This Outback, however, was great! Along with Outback's fun atmosphere, the servers were attentive and pleasant, and the food was very good. It was more than a typical American steakhouse, and i'll return the next time I'm in Las Cruces.

Just went to outback for a nice dinner on a Sunday night. Was greeted by the manager and led to our seat. Sat there for close to 20 minutes without being greeted by anyone and for that matter no one even acknowledged us. The manager sat at the bar and flirted with some customers while we were not being helped at all. Will not be going back to outback in las cruces.

Well - I should have known better, but NO. Had to stop AND order the prime rib. Yeah - I know it Outback! They did not disappoint. Meat was tough, chewy and gristly. Asparagus was grilled to death. Only good thing I can say is the servers were great. Again - my own fault, should have known!

Always great food service and drinks. The only problem I have is they never have anything but well done rib eye steaks we like medium rare. They should work on that.

I absolutely love Outback. Compared to all the other chain restaurants they are the most consistent with the quality of food they serve. Yes I did work there for 2 years in my hometown so maybe I am a little biased but hear me out. Coming from a different town it seems different here because we made sure to please the customers to keep them coming back so we would have a job. I worked in restaurants since 16 so I know what goes on and people can get distracted but here it just seems like they come off as "I took your order and refilled your drink once. Tip me." The managers never come out and check on the customers unless there is a problem (which like Nick R. we also have had problems with steak temperatures). It just seems like service here lacks and it starts with the management. The reasons I give it a 4 is because while the food is great (when prepared correctly) the service needs to step up.

As a steak lover, I have had problems with this location. Namely, their quality standards pertaining to levels of "doneness" is terrible. I have asked for medium rare steaks that been brought to the table both bloody red and well done brown. For a place that highlights their steaks, they really need to make sure that all of their chefs are playing off the same sheet of music. Also, when I was given a severely over cooked steak I was told by the waiter that it would require cooking another steak to meet my request. Well, duh!?! Frankly it is not the fault of the customer if a steakhouse cannot cook their steaks correctly. FYI: I have never had this issue at either Cattle Baron or Texas Road House. I would suggest either over this Outback Steakhouse.

Just ate at Outback!!! Prime Rib was tough and chewy!!!! My wife's rib-eye was very chewy. I could get better food and service at a Truck Stop!!! Waiters and Waitresses were more interested in telling war stories to each other than serving customers!!!!! Spent over $60 for food no better than Greasy Spoon.

It is what it is--predictable food. We ordered from Red, White & Bloomin' menu, everything good, a little salty--it's a chain and the food doesn't vary much restaurant to restaurant. Service very good, house Margarita better than expected. We like the Strawberry Waffle Shortcake, very rich & big enough to share. Two drinks, one appetizer, two entrees, one dessert, taxes & tip (20%) came to $60.

My favorite item at Outback is something that's not even listed on the menu: the complimentary soft, dark bread sprinkled with oats served with fresh butter. I coud stuff myself with these tasty carbs and fat all night and leave the restaurant as a happy camper. We ordered the Kookaburra Wings, Coral Reef Crab Dip, Queensland Salad. The wings were great except they were a bit too salty. Instead of the crab dip, I probably should have just saved room for dessert...it wasn't all that good. I was very pleased with the Queensland salad...huge (we split it and it was like having 2 large salads)...magically, it stayed ice cold, crisp and refreshing while I devoured it. They make their own Blue Cheese, too...try it. This was the quietest Outback location I've ever been to....real nice...especially since my son was sleeping when we got there.

The food was good the service was prompt, I tried the new prime rib sandwich it was better than expected. My wife had the tilapia plate and she loved it, we then ordered the caramel cookie it was so tasty. My son had the steak medallions. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was be cause of the price. 60 bucks for 2 adults and 1 child is too much.

I don't have words to describe the horrid experience. I heard Roy, who is one of the managers, being rude to a table...he raised his voice, and the customers, including my table, just sat in disbelief. Then it escalated to the back and I heard Roy yelling at the employees in the back! The rampage went on for 10 minutes until one of the tables got up and walked out...I followed suit as I lost my appetite. Never will I step foot again at this Outback again. The employees looked disturbed and unhappy. I cant imagine this is good for business nor employee moral!

Food was good. Staff was amazing. The kitchen staff checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our lunch. Our waiter Alex J. was great. He went above the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed, and made our visit fun and tasty! THX

Totally underwhelmed! My friend and I ate at Outback on Tuesday evening at about 8:30 pm. We were sat immediately and then greeted by a manager saying someone would be with us shortly. He also began what would be a continuous theme of up selling, which became very annoying. We ordered two sirloins, one 6 oz and the other 8 oz. Halfway trough the meal, my friend found a hair in her steak. My steak was overcooked and looked like a completely different cut of meat. The manager did not charge us for the hairy steak, which i wouldn't have paid for anyways, but i thought he would at least comp a drink, offer her a free meal or take a percentage off the bill. The service was also poor. Two different servers and the manager referred to us as "me lady" and "the gentleman". Very weird and annoying. It was very slow even though there were only 10-12 customers. The mixed alcoholic drinks were inconsistent. The first very weak and the second too strong to enjoy. The quality of the restaurant has declined over the last two years. This is the third time i've been to the Las Cruces Outback and have been completely dissatisfied. Plus, my steak my have given me food poisoning. We'll see in a few hours!!!

The food has improved, but the wait staff are all still geared toward a faster get the order and get you out the door method... so the two don't really go very well..but the food has improved...because I HATED this PLACE in the past...now hey..not bad

Great food! Wonderful wait staff and management! Tone did a great job of taking care of our table! My husband's order came out wrong and Tone quickly fixed it by bringing out a whole new plate in just a few minutes. I appreciated that Tone was ready to take ownership of the issue even though it was not his fault! After that two different managers came to check on us. We were very well taken care of!

I always come here for dinner.. I think food is better than any other steak house in town. Texas Roadhouse everything is too salty.. Cattle Baron used to be my favorite but they always mess up my prime rib order so since then I've been coming to this place. Cozy ambiance, friendly servers, and food is better.

Service was great the first night absolutely horrible the next night !!! I ate in bar had my usual Outback Special steak and was treated as a queen the next night i had to ask for everything I needed. I would only love more that just one Outback would carry a quality draft beer instead of the second rate ones. Perhaps a suggestion would be one local beer or Fat Tire. What happened to that good tasting Aussie Amber beer they use to have. of Samuel Adams, Shock Top, Blue Moon Dos Equis.

Three of us eat at the Las Cruces Outback on a fairly regular basis. This evening all three of us experienced poor quality meals. The service was fine though. We spoke with the manager, George, about our dissatisfaction and his response was to apologize, offer us a free dessert AND CHARGE FULL PRICE FOR THE MEALS! We won't be back.

Another review of a local major chain restaurant. We have only been to this location once since we moved here from Arizona. Our experience was okay, nothing outstanding. I thought that in the past, soon after they launched their restaurant chain, the quality of the food was better then it is now. Since we try to eat out more at the locally owned restaurants, and we do have a couple of chain restaurants that we like better, the Outback needs to improve their game.
